Summary
This is a unique leadership development programme for women in cyber security, delivered by Empowering You and in association with TechUK. The aim is to build a collaborative and powerful community of emerging women leaders in cyber security roles across all industry sectors. Delivered over 4 months from April -June 2022, Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security is designed to enable the transition of aspirational and early to mid career professionals in cyber security and information management/assurance roles into confident, capable and motivated leaders. A key element of this programme will be a team challenge designed to accelerate the growth and effectiveness of the of cyber security community.

The course equips participants with the knowledge and behavioural insights required for successful leadership, embedding and functionalising new learnings as real world behaviour and action. You will join a small cohort from diverse organisations and will enrich your learning through shared experiences and collaboration.


Key Learning Intentions
During the programme, participants will work individually and collaboratively to:

Programme Modules
Segmented into four workshop modules and a team community challenge, Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security engages participants in a detailed exploration around the fundamentals of leadership and management, focusing on individual drivers and derailers.
Each module includes an inspirational guest speaker from different industries sharing and discussing their own leadership journey.

Participant Experience
Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security immerses participants in a multi-layered development journey designed to ensure maximum individual impact.
This programme is delivered in a a face-to-face and experiential format, with group activities and action learning sets. Two professional leadership facilitators are used throughout our workshops to make sure we maintain high levels of personal engagement and diverse perspectives.

Team Collaboration Challenge
In conjunction with the various course elements, participants will undertake a Team Collaboration Challenge. The purpose of this is to deepen and extend the learning outcomes and for the participants to extend the portfolio of evidence around their capability. This is a valuable opportunity to practise team work across different organisational cultures and diverse perspectives.
The aims and scope of these small projects will be decided by participants with input from a programme panel made up from TechUK, partners, sponsors and Empowering You. Participants will be seen to be delivering something of lasting value to the UK's cyber security and digital community. The project will provide opportunities for the participants to consolidate and demonstrate new skills and to make a wider difference for society.

Programme Map
From self-paced, individual learning to interactive group development, the course immerses participants in a vibrant, multifaceted learning experience. Interacting with peers across a range of mediums, participants gain diverse insights and build powerful new connections.

Organisation Sponsor
Each participant will be encouraged to identify an organisation workplace sponsor or mentor who will support them during the programme. The primary role of the sponsor will be to act as a sounding board for thoughts and ideas and to help ensure the participant feels supported and energised. In many cases the role of workplace sponsor falls naturally to the participant’s manager, however this also presents an opportunity to connect and gain mentor support from an executive or senior colleague.
Pricing and Enrolment
This is a free but selective programme. Participants will be selected by a panel based on applications received and to achieve a diverse industry representation. Nominations will be invited from senior leaders for one of their employees and each applicant will be required to complete an application form for
consideration.

It is expected that participants will stay overnight close to the venue on the middle evening of each 2-day workshop and join the planned networking social and group preparation work. Exceptional circumstances (eg. childcare arrangements) will be considered of course.
Team Challenge Presentation: June 29th or 30th in London (tbc).
