This is a unique leadership programme for women in cyber security and resilience, delivered by Empowering You and in association with techUK, Cabinet Office and the Northern Ireland Cyber Security Centre. The aim is to build a collaborative and powerful community of emerging women leaders in cyber security roles across all industry sectors. Delivered over 3 months from September-November 2022, Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security is designed to enable the transition of aspirational and early-mid career executives and managers into confident, capable and motivated leaders. A key element of this programme will be a team project designed to make a positive difference to the pace and success of cyber security and resilience in Northern Ireland, for both the economy and society.

The course equips participants with the knowledge and behavioural insights required for successful leadership, embedding and functionalising new learnings as real world behaviour and action. You will join a small cohort from diverse organisations and will enrich your learning through shared experiences and collaboration.
Key Learning Intentions
During the programme, participants will work individually and collaboratively to:
Accelerate leadership potential and embrace a ‘leader as learner’ mindset
Explore strategies to understand and engage more effectively with team members and stakeholders
Understand and develop your own personal and authentic leadership skills
Identify and respond to challenges within the team and organisation
Leverage the combined expertise of peers to progress individual and collective growth
Collaborate to deliver a team project for the women in digital and cyber security community
Segmented into four workshop modules and a team community challenge, Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security engages participants in a detailed exploration around the fundamentals of leadership and management, focusing on individual drivers and derailers.
Each module includes an inspirational guest speaker from different industries sharing and discussing their own leadership journey.

Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security immerses participants in a multi-layered development journey designed to ensure maximum individual impact.
This programme is delivered in a a face-to-face and experiential format, with group activities and action learning sets. Two professional leadership facilitators are used throughout our workshops to make sure we maintain high levels of personal engagement and diverse perspectives.

Team Collaboration Challenge
In conjunction with the various course elements, participants will undertake a Team Collaboration Challenge. The purpose of this is to deepen and extend the courses learning outcomes and for the participant to extend the portfolio of evidence around their capability.
The aims and scope of this small project will be decided by participants with input from the industry and governmnet partners of the programme. Participants will be seen to be delivering something of lasting value to the cyber security and digital community. The project will provide opportunities for the participant to consolidate and demonstrate new skills and to make a wider difference for the region.

From self-paced, individual learning to interactive group development, the course immerses participants in a vibrant, multifaceted learning experience. Interacting with peers across a range of mediums, participants gain diverse insights and build powerful new connections.
Each participant will be encouraged to identify an organisation workplace sponsor who will support them during the programme. The primary role of the sponsor will be to act as a sounding board for thoughts and ideas and to help ensure the participant feels supported and energised. In many cases the role of workplace sponsor falls naturally to the participant’s manager, however this also presents an opportunity to connect and gain mentor support from an executive or senior colleague.
Pricing and Application
This is a free but selective programme. Participants will be selected by an industry and government panel, based on applications and to achieve a diverse industry representation. Each applicant will be required to complete an application form for consideration and must be able to commit to all dates and timings below.

Workshop times/dates are as follows; you are expected to attend all workshops and graduation to complete the programme successfully.

It is expected that participants will stay overnight (unless living locally) close to the venue on the middle evening of each 2-day workshop and join the planned networking social and group preparation work. Exceptional circumstances (eg. childcare arrangements) will be considered of course.
Team Challenge Presentation and Graduation: 21st November 2022, 12-7pm in Belfast
All travel and overnight hotel expenses are the responsibility of the participants.
